Getting the Most out of Seminars

One of the advantages of being a job-seeker is that there are a plethora of Seminars, often times free of charge, to attend. On any given week, a person who looks hard enough at event calendars can find a couple Seminars that they are interested in going to. Whether it is a Seminar on how to write a better resume, to a Seminar on professional networking, they can be a great way to meet new people, gain knowledge on a specific topic, and then be energized to take that knowledge into your job-seeking experience and apply it to your successes.

It is important during Seminars to understand a few things about them. For one, your time is valuable. While for some people it may be beneficial to attend any and every Seminar they come across, for most people it is not. It is wise to look at a variety of Seminars and decipher between them which ones will benefit you the most. There is no need to take a morning or afternoon out of your day to attend something that you know will be a waste of your time. Second, take advantage of this free information! Take notes, ask questions, dialogue with the presenter and group participants, do anything and everything you can to take advantage of this incredible opportunity to further your job-search or career.

Accounting and Business School of the Rockies will be hosting its monthly FREE Seminar entitled “How to start your own bookkeeping business” on July 24 th from 10:00am to 12:00pm. In addition, we are pleased to announce another FREE Seminar on August 7 th from 9:00am to 11:00am entitled “Why Business People Fail, and What to do About it”. This Seminar will be put on by Debbie Scott with Achievement Dynamics, LLC. -- a sales and management development firm.
